Me.
There is something special about the feeling of a good story. Walking out of a movie theater sometimes feels strange, as if waking up from a dream. Even better though, are the stories that we can see ourselves in, or find inspiration from. Dustin Lewis has a fascination with this feeling, and aims to create stories that invoke those same emotions. Life is often unkind, but seeing someone make it through struggles you are all too familiar with, even if just on screen, can make a world of a difference. In order to obtain this goal, Dustin began studying at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2020. Majoring in music composition, he worked to hone the ability of telling a story through music. Since he set on this path, Dustin has had the ultimate goal of creating scores for media, from video games to films.

Marking his first professional experience in the field, Dustin collaborated with an artist and programmer in the Greenlight Game Jam to make the 2d platforming game Jelly Dino in just one month. Following this up, and with an expanded team, he began working on T.Q.T a year later. This colorful and comedic “roguelike” was where he collaborated with Sharnesia Joyner, and gained proficiency with Wwise, as well as picking up a bit of C#. These were far from his only projects during his college education. During his Junior year, Dustin collaborated with the theater department to score and produce an episode of a series titled: I can’t believe my final project is a scavenger hunt. This was completed in a turnaround of only 1-2 weeks from receiving the finished visuals to finalizing all audio. From this and many other experiences, he has also developed proficiency with sound design, both in a digital audio workspace, and for working with dialogue and sound effects.
In addition to writing, Dustin has discovered a passion for teaching. Through his experience as leadership in the William Mason High School Marching Band, he found a love for the journey of helping others achieve things they didn't know they could. Revisiting this passion Dustin now assists in the instruction of the Eastern Alamance High School Marching Band, and offers private lessons through Good Grooves Music Lessons and Therapy.
